Connecticut Press Club Announces Contest Winners

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 1, 2021 (GREENWICH, Conn.) —The Connecticut Press Club has announced its 2020 Communications Contest award winners. Winners were notified by email, and the Club will salute them with an awards ceremony and celebration later this year.

The contest is held annually and spans a variety of categories—e.g., news writing, specialty articles, speeches, columns, personality profiles, photo essays, books, and more.

“The Connecticut Press Club’s annual awards contest honors some of the state’s most accomplished journalists, writers, editors, and other communications professionals,” said Connecticut Press Club President Michele Turk. “The submissions for this year’s event were very strong, and the judges did a commendable job in identifying and rewarding the outstanding work.”

The Connecticut Press Club is an affiliate of the National Federation of Press Women (NFPW) and includes both male and female members. First-place winners in the statewide contest are also eligible for awards in the nationwide contest sponsored by the NFPW.

Founded in the 1970s, the Connecticut Press Club is comprised of men and women who work in the state as professional writers, editors, and other media professionals. Once open solely to print and broadcast journalists, the club now welcomes all types of communicators: writers, editors, bloggers, authors, educators, public relations professionals, media photographers, students, and others. More information on the club is available on their website.

The Connecticut Press Club welcomes sponsors for its annual contest and the awards ceremony and celebration. The Club holds year-round educational events for writers, including their recently launched Fireside Chat series, featuring an impressive array of media experts.
